The key-switched fiber optic A/B switch is enclosed in a tamper-proof enclosure. Power and fiber optic connections are contained within the plastic housing that is closed with tamper-proof screws. A barrel key is employed to control switching of a common, full duplex fiber optic port to one of two other ports. The switch defaults to the ’A’ port when the key is removed and when power is removed or lost. The key cannot be removed when it is in the ’ON’ position. The ON position connects the common port to the ‘B’ port. The connection of the common port to the ‘A’ port is used for the OFF position. This switch is based on the standard 5100610R Data DeadBolt to which additional physical security features have been added.
