The Surfside Miami Beach residence is a three-story unit with stunning, panoramic views of the ocean and downtown Miami, FL. It features an exquisite, one-of-a-kind two-story high-resolution art display. A secondary residence for the homeowners, it’s utilized mainly for entertaining and social gatherings.

THE CHALLENGE:

Located in the heart of the vibrant Art Deco district of Miami Beach, the Surfside residence homeowners wanted their second residence to be a modern oasis that could host an array of events, gatherings and parties. With an affinity for art, they wanted the residence to reflect their refined tastes from both a design and technology standpoint, as well as provide an elegant setting to showcase digital artwork for dealing opportunities. The technology would need to be discreet to establish a minimalist and clean aesthetic.

THE SOLUTION:

The homeowners partnered with Audio One and Blackdove Inc. to implement a range of best-in-class smart home technology from Crestron throughout the residence. While they were not very familiar with high-end home automation, Audio One was able to work with them to create a fully customized user interface to meet their specific needs.

THE TECHNOLOGY:

Crestron technology was deployed in each room of the residence, including its five bedrooms, exercise room, media room, great room, lounge, kitchen/ bar, and dining area. Crestron DigitalMedia™ technology plays a critical role, delivering flawless high-resolution video required for the frequent small- and large-scale gatherings. Audio One and Blackdove worked together to create a custom app to control the two-story high-resolution art display, one of the main focal points of the home. The home features fully-integrated, centralized audio, video, climate, lighting, and motorized shading control, which enables the homeowners to set the perfect ambiance for any activity with a single button press from the intuitive custom user interface running on Crestron touch screens. Crestron shades provide the additional benefit of helping to protect the furnishings, finishes, and artwork throughout the home from fading.

RESULTS:
